How to: Grow Your Own Sprouts
Sprouts are great for adding a bit of flavor or crunch to a salad or sandwich, and can really boost the nutritional value of your meal The important thing to note about buying seeds for sprouting is that you should look for seeds specifically labelled as “sprouting seeds” or “for sprouting.” The reason behind this is that they have been cleaned well and are pathogen-free.You can buy special lids made for growing sprouts, and they’re great. But if you’re cheap like me, you can also use a piece of muslin, cheesecloth, or nylon and a rubber band!
Sprouting is wonderful! It’s a great way to supplement your fresh veggies, especially in the winter. DIY is way cheaper than buying sprouts.
