Warm Spiced Vanilla Cocktail
With more cold and rainy nights ahead, I thought what better way to warm the heart and soul than with a spiced cocktail. As a child I recall when my mom would serve me warm milk before bedtime. The warm milk relaxed my body, and my eyes became heavy. Milk doesn’t seem to do the trick as an adult so it’s called for something else…. Warm Spiced Vanilla Cocktail: Cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, Irish cream, and bourbon make for a cozy hot cocktail that’ll warm up the coldest of winter nights.
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups milk (I use 2%, but whole would also be good)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 5-inch cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 2 star anise
- 1 vanilla bean (optional)
- 2/3 cup Irish cream liqueur (like Baileys)
